Dear Families and Students,
I first want to say welcome to fifth grade! I’m so excited
to join you on your journey through your last year of elementary school. Now
let’s start with a little business and then I’ll tell you a little about
myself.
There are several important papers for you and your parents
to look over when you pick up your teacher assignment. Parents if you can
please plan on filling out the Student
Information Forms and the Spotlight
paper and turning both in at open house on Monday
August 18th. Fifth graders please read the letter I wrote. We will talk
about this letter the first week of school and how to have a year of GREATNESS!
Families please visit this blog often, as I will post pictures of activities we
are doing throughout the school year. In addition to the blog I will send a
weekly email that includes what were learning, important dates, information,
and assignments. Of course feel free to contact me directly anytime at my
school email address bethany.lindauer@oldham.kyschools.us
(also linked to this blog) or via phone at 222-2228 ext. 104.
Now enough of the business… I would like you to meet me,
your teacher! This will be my sixth year teaching. I taught for a year in
Denver, Colorado. I’ve had the amazing privilege of teaching the last four
years here at Harmony Elementary. I enjoy working with amazing staff, kids and
families here at Harmony! I love, LOVE, LOVE
teaching! I hope as you get to know me you learn that I’m patient, kind, and easy
to talk to! I can’t wait to get to know each of your individual personalities!
Okay yes I love to teach, but I do much more outside of the
classroom! I’m married and have two young boys! My husband Chris is a Swimming
and Diving Coach at the University of Louisville. You can now imagine that we
are HUGE U of L fans! Him and I love the outdoors! We enjoy hiking, biking, and
running. He will be competing in his first Iron Man here in Louisville in less
than one month! My oldest son Jack is four. He loves to play with friends,
swim, bike, playing games, talking, and anything to do with Teenage Mutant
Ninja Turtles. My youngest son Owen is almost two. He likes to ride scooters,
play at parks, eat chocolate, and say no! I love to run, read, and play games. I
have run one marathon and many half marathons. I’ll be running my next half
marathon this October. Reading just for fun is one of my favorite things to do!
Last, but not least I really enjoy board games. I look forward to challenging
many of you at a board game during indoor recess. I can’t wait to learn what
each of you love to do outside of school!
I look forward to meeting everyone at Open House and kicking
off an amazing school year!
Your excited teacher,
Mrs. Lindauer
